risk management
My friend introduced me to the world of capital markets, specifically stocks. He was trading as a side hustle to make extra cash and showed me how it works. Since then, I’ve been diving deep into learning about it.
Financial topics feel “weird and interesting at the same time” to me, since I usually only follow tech stuff. There are so many strange terms: dividends, Price-to-Earnings ratio, arbitrage, hedge funds, and more. I’m still keeping up with it through news and social media.
Out of everything I’ve learned, risk management really stuck with me. It reminds me of The Art of War by Sun Tzu, which I read a while back. My perspective shifted after I connected the dots between them.
I’ve started applying risk management outside the markets, calculating risks and rewards in life—college, friends, goals, and problems. It’s about choosing paths with less downside and more upside.
